About the event
The FREEDOM | Ukrainian Community in partnership with Immigration Voice and Holland&Knight, is organizing the advocacy event to highlight the Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees' issues and address them to the attention, awareness and agenda of the Senate and Congress.
These advocacy activities will be dedicated to lobbying of the following immigration long term perspectives and decisions for Ukrainians under U4U:
1 / a right to improve the immigration status and eligibility to apply for green card for ukrainians after the parole expiration
2 / flexibility of current UHP status rules - including a right for short term travel outside of the US without a risk to lose the right to be re-paroled
The first event under this lobbying program will take place in Washington DC over 3 days:
March 26, 10 am - 5 pm: training on how to talk and behave while visiting the Congress and Senate offices with the Ukrainian agenda, introduction to the program details. The training will be held in the conference room of Holland&Knight. Coffee, lunch and dinner will be served for all participants during the event by our partners.
March 27-28, 9 am - 5 pm: visiting offices of the Senate and Congress with the Ukrainian agenda supported by professional lawyers and lobbyists. We will gather at 9 am at the Holland&Knight office and then follow the visits schedule in small groups.
We are looking forward to building a team of 35-40 participants from Washington DC and other locations who are ready to reach DC these days.
