This is the daily reality for Ukrainian soldiers like Denys Ralko, a fighter of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade and a father of two.

From day one of the war, he has been defending Ukraine on the most dangerous frontlines: Bakhmut, Soledar, Kherson region, and now the Zaporizhzhia front, where constant missile strikes and drone attacks make survival even harder.

"I didn’t hesitate to stand up for Ukraine. I dream of coming home, hugging my children, and living an ordinary life... But first—we must win!" says Denys.
